Here are the next scheduled Saturday work dates for Spring 2012. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in site excavations on the following dates:
- March 3
- March 10
- March 17
- March 24
- March 31
- April 7
- May 12
- May 19
- May 26
PLEASE NOTE: All dates are subject to change or last minute cancellation for any reason including inclement weather or for accomodating large groups.
There also fieldwork opportunities on Wednesdays and Fridays, as well as work in the San Marcos lab. If you are interested in volunteering you should download the volunteer information package from the GSAR website and contact Nancy Velchoff at nvelchoff@gaultschool.org.
It is the responsibility of the volunteer to check in with Nancy Velchoff via email at
nvelchoff@gaultschool.org or any of the Gault staff (Clark or Mike) for fieldwork updates.
Volunteers working in the field must be members of the GSAR. Memberships are good for a year and must only be paid once.
We typically work rain or shine as the excavation is covered by a large stressed skin structure. The building also keeps us warm (okay, warmer) even on the cold days though we do suggest dressing in layers so you can adjust. Volunteers are taken on a first-come basis though GSAR members will have priority. If you are interested in volunteering at Gault please contact Nancy at nvelchoff@gaultschool.org.
